Police: No sabotage or terrorism link to Empire Gallery blast

SUBANG JAYA, Sept 28 The military have ruled out harm as well as terrorism as being behind this mornings explosion that ripped through Empire Gallery here, confirming the explosion was caused by the gas trickle that could have been due to negligence.

Deputy Selangor CPO Datuk A. Thaiveegan told reporters during the scene that the complex, that comprises the 12-storey office suites tower, five-storey shopping mall, the nine-storey SOHO (small office home office) as well as the 10-storey hotel, will be closed to the open indefinitely.

Many have called to ask if the incident was caused by harm or terrorism. From our early investigations, no proof was found to indicate this.

Meaning, there was no harm as well as no link to terrorism. We regard this as an accident, that could have been caused by negligence, he said.

Fire as well as Rescue Department personnel, police, the forensics unit as well as the Energy Commission (EC), he said, will press on with investigations to discover what caused the leak.

We know it was the gas trickle ... though what caused the blast? There contingency have been the spark, he said.
