Jho Low: Rosmahs my friend not my godmother

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept twenty-eight Businessman Low Taek Jho, whose tighten ties with the prime minister's mother has raised eyebrows, described Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor as his good crony as well as rubbished suggestions she is his godmother.

"Rosmah (picture) is not my godmother. She is my good friend," the Penang-born billionaire was reported as saying by headlines portal Merdeka Review yesterday.

The bilingual headlines site had plucked the story from Chinese-language every day Kwong Wah Yit Poh who interviewed Low during last Sunday's cycling event attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak during his weekend trip to Penang.

Better known as Jho Low, the high-flier important for partying with Hollywood superstars related which he befriended the prime minister's son while study in Britain as well as soon became tighten to the family.

He additionally said he had introduced many investors to Malaysia.

At age 20, Low had set up, with schoolmates from the Middle East, an investment fund called The Wynton Group, valued during US$ 1 billion (RM3.2 billion).

Now 29, Low had been involved in the set up of the Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA) which was in the future "federalised" to become the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the government-linked association which not long ago won the RM500 million contract to redevelop the aged Sungai Besi airport in the capital city.
