Preserving the "Johor Way"

After 18 years as the Menteri Besar of Johor, Ghani Othman is fighting his biggest domestic test, not so most opposite Lim Kit Siang, who's been marked down by no less than the politician Mahathir Mohamad as the racist, though opposite the try to deconstruct "the Johor Way".

Today, in the newspaper advertisement, Ghani sends the powerful message in his usual amiable manner.

"They use antagonistic difference to stir the emotions of Chinese electorate to denote their restlessness towards the government ... we am deeply disturbed which the moderate Johor Way will be dejected completely by cunning domestic manipulation.

"The choosing will finish soon. But harmony contingency be recorded forever. Moderation, which underpins the Johor Way, is what we schooled from Chinese culture. Now we am facing the competitor who is reaching out to the Chinese using "anti-moderation" strategy which he is very great at. How ironic this is -because such strategy goes opposite all which is great as well as fair in Chinese truth as well as culture."
