Faulty runway lights cause standstill during KK airport

KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu International Airport here came to a standstill Thursday evening after a runway lights blacked out, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded as well as most internal as well as general flights diverted to circuitously airports.
Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB)officials, who declined to be named, said they were servicing a runway lights as well as hoped to get them behind on as shortly as possible.
The lights went out during about 6.20pm, resulting in most flights out being unable to take off whilst incoming flights were diverted to circuitously airports such as Labuan.
MAB officials were not able to give expect series of flights as well as passengers influenced but confirmed.
"I have been sitting inside a plane for a final 3 hours, I boarded about 6.30pm as well as usually an hour after were you told by a captain that you cannot take off because of a runway lights were faulty. Since then, you have been waiting," said a passenger bound for Kuala Lumpur in a content message toThe Star.
