Man rams tanker into ex-wife's house

LONDON: An estranged husband in Britain done his mother run for life as he attempted to blow up her house by ramming it with the fuel tanker.

Christine Billington, 53, fled in terror as husband Hugh, 51, twice crashed the lorry filled with thousands of gallons of paraffin in to the bungalow prior to torching the front door, the Sun reported.

As flames in jeopardy to trigger the large explosion just 100 yards from the primary school, the hero father leapt in to the 25-tonne tanker and reversed it away from the blaze.

Darren Fletcher, who was taking daughter to school, used the glow extinguisher to put out the flames that were already lapping around the truck.

Meanwhile, Billington, the driver by profession for the fuel company, was arrested in the nearby woodland after remaining on the run for three hours.
