OCT twenty-eight When it was voiced which AirAsia had paid for a stake in Malaysia Airlines, most people in easterly Malaysia were worried which a competition between Firefly as well as AirAsia would stop as well as fares would go up. I come from Sarawak as well as rest upon a competition to give me a best transport as well as service. My last dual trips with my young kids to Sarawak to see their grandparents were upon Firefly because it had a best deal with a return outing for dual adults as well as dual young kids at underneath RM600. As a bonus, we get to use a aerobridge upon Firefly flights.
Now when we cannot even book upon Firefly anymore because it no longer does a KLIA-Kuching route, we have to book AirAsia.
The cheapest transport I could find upon AirAsia for my family over a brand new year period was RM1,100.
It is very clear which AirAsia "killed" Firefly as well as monopolised a easterly Malaysian routes. As a monopoly, a fares can usually go up as well as this is just what is happening now. So much for Tony's assurances.
