Going by Islamic precepts, no tellurian being - and that includes Malaysia's royalty - have been free from a bent to commit errors, pronounced Selangor PAS emissary commissioner Khalid Samad.
"The principle is, no tellurian is maksum (a trait reserved for holy prophets who have been preserved by God from doing wrong), this includes a sultans.
"In a inherent monarchy, a sultans have to follow a roles accorded to them. They cannot (exceed their powers).
"This is not an comprehensive monarchy. If it is, then a aristocrat would have a rules, a aristocrat may do whatever he wants."
Khalid, at a press conference in a Parliament lobby, was referring to debate over comments by inherent law expert Abdul Aziz Bari, upon a recent statement by Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
This came out of a debate involving a Selangor Islamic Affairs Department's 'inspection' of an eventuality organized by welfare NGO Harapan Komuniti, at that 12 Muslims were present.
Khali! d was as ked to state a Selangor PAS' mount upon Abdul Aziz's intention to sue Umno-owned daily Utusan Malaysia and former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamed for defamation, over their take upon a law lecturer's remarks.
